DO I HAVE TO BE FLEXIBLE TOÂ JOIN YOGA?
No, You don't. You are joining the class to develop flexibility and improve overall health. Over time you will notice improvement, toning of your body as well as reduced aches and pains. For faster results we recommend you to join classes two to three times a week.
IS BELLY DANCING A GOOD EXERCISE?
Belly dancing is a fun great low impact exercise on joints. Some women belly dance during their full-term pregnancy to keep the womb healthy and ease the birthing process. Others to receive a good dose of endorphin, muscle control and improved memory.
I'M A BEGINNER, CAN I JOIN A GROUP?
Yes, you can join a group. Our instructor will adjust poses to suit different levels and person's abilities. We thrive to cater and give personal attention to each participant personalizing your class even in a group.
WHAT IS BELLY DANCE?
Belly dance is the cultural dance of Egypt, the hub of dance and music in the Arab world. Egyptian women have performed this dance for thousands of years. What you see mostly on social media and shows is called Oriental Dance which has derived from the steps and movements borrowed from various folklore dances. The correct Egyptian term for belly dance is Raqs Sharqi.
I AM NERVOUS, HOW CAN I GET STARTED?
One of the great ways is to take a trial class to boost your confidence. This is a one-time class where you don't commit to a class yet. Once you are happy and satisfied it's time for you to decide!
WILL I PERFORM IN FRONT OF PEOPLE?
This will be decided by you according to your need and preference. Dancing only as a hobby is an option just to have fun without performing whereas learning to perform will give you chances to perform on stage at dance festivals and take part in competitions.
CAN I PRACTICE WHEN I'MÂ MENSTRUATING?
Yes. Yoga is highly beneficial in relieving cramps and easing out back pains however you must prevent practicing inverts during your menstruation. You can always keep your instructor informed.
I'M PLUS SIZE, CAN I BELLY DANCE?
Yes, you can. Belly dancing is learned and performed by women of all ages and sizes, this includes kids too. It is vastly popular in many countries at the moment due to the enhancement of body positivity.
I AM PLUS SIZE, CAN I PRACTICE YOGA?
Yes, you can. Yoga practice is meant for any size of body and age. We welcome participants of all sizes, shapes and ages to our classes. Your peer is friendly, caring and supportive as well.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO CLASS?
It's ok if you don't want to open your belly. You may wear anything comfortable to class, preferably something easy to move in. Such as any kind of pants, t-shirts, Skirts and Tank tops. Hip scarf.
